Mom, I Want to Hear Your Story – Book Review

If you know me well, you know I love to read. When I was younger, I loved to Journal, and as I got older, that turned into a series of blogs… most of which are defunct, because I’ve never been really good at being consistent. (Something I’m still working to change, and you’ll see right here if I have managed to change it, over time).

For Mother’s Day, my daughter (Stormi, my eldest) gifted me a book. Mom, I want to Hear Your Story. It’s a guided journal, and it is amazing! I love that it asks me questions, and then I’m prompted to answer. Also the teacher/trainer in me insists that I must answer questions, so although life has been crazy lately (as it nearly always is), I still find the time once a week or so to answer a few questions. I should finish it by next Mother’s Day. 😛

The questions are all about my life: my childhood, parents, siblings, grandparents. It asks about my children’s father, spiritual beliefs, the cost of items when I was born and when I graduated. Basically all of the things that I find interesting, that my children will find interesting, that their children and their children will hopefully find interesting. In addition to scrapbooks, with enough of these journals, we could build a picture of who we are, so that our great-grandchildren and beyond will know at least a piece of who we are.

Here’s my review over on Instagram:

Want to pick one up for your mom? Or for yourself, to give as a gift to one of your children? Here’s where you can pick it up on Amazon: Mom, I Want to Hear Your Story.

*Note: I am an Amazon affiliate. If you click the link and purchase the book, I will earn a small commission. You will never pay more than NOT clicking through my store, I will include coupons or sales whenever I can, and the commission I may earn gets poured back into this – allowing me to continue to try new things and bring the reviews to you! Thank you!

So what do you think? Have you done a guided journal to document your history, or do you think you do a good job of it otherwise? Inquiring minds want to know! <3

As always, thank you for joining me in another episode of Kim Tried! If there’s something you loved, something you DIDN’T love, or something you want me to try and report back on, drop me a comment below! I look forward to hearing from you!
